Russia over the centuries produced a plethora of goods: furs, exceptional caviar, called ikra in Russian, in colors of grey, black and red, coal, petroleum products such as oil and natural gas, precious metals, and, of course the Russian’s perennial grog, vodka.
The Dying Black Sea
The Black Sea or “Chernoye more”is an inland sea, located in southern Russia and bordered by Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia and Moldova. The Black Sea is not immune from the ravages of mankind’s progress. As a result, it’s dying.
