Hype and Hype Pro
Animation Software Terms
When using animation software, there are several common terms with which you need familiarity. Although there are slight differences in the use of these terms between software, the basic definition does not change.
Create a Hype Template for iBooks Author
In a previous Hype for iBooks Author tutorial, we built an image gallery with interactive buttons and animated transitions. The project turned out so well that I decided to create more. So in this tutorials we will convert the previous gallery widget project to a Hype template.
Export Hype to iBooks Author
In this Hype for iBooks tutorial, we will finish our Christmas animation page widget by creating a secondary timeline where we will animate a toy train to move across the scene and export our project as a widget for iBooks Author.
Hype for iBooks Author - Gallery
In the previous tutorial, we built a simple gallery in Hype for use in iBooks Author. In this Hype for iBooks Author tutorial, we will add the interactivity and animation that makes Hype widgets great for iBA. We will add the On Mouse Click action to the Back and Next buttons.
Hype Workspace Tools
In the past tutorial, we discussed the most common terms used in animation software. Now we will explore how these terms apply to the Hype workspace and tools.
iBA Image Gallery for iBooks Author

iBook Author HTML Widget in Hype

Start a New Hype Pro Document
The best way to learn about animating in Hype is to create a simple animation, such as moving a circle across the screen. Let’s start our first Hype document and see what happens. You will soon realize that the tools in the Hype workspace control the CSS properties in our HTML5 based animation.
The Record Feature in Hype
In the last tutorial, we began working on a simple animation and exploring how to use the Record feature to create our animation. We have the object to be animated, a rectangle, sized and positioned on the screen for the start of the animation. Now we will use the Record feature to finish.
Timeline Actions in Hype iBook Widget
In the two previous Hype for iBooks Author tutorials, we have created our first animation for our iBooks HTML widget in Hype. Now we will coordinate the playback of the animation between the main and secondary timelines.
