Thank you for your interest in the “Today in History” newsletter! Despite the site’s name, “Today in History” is updated weekly. Sometimes the articles coincide with current events, and sometimes they don’t, but I hope they’re always entertaining!

Also once a week, I send out a free newsletter to keep you updated on what I’ve been doing. The newsletter gives you links to the most recent articles, profiles of historic figures and their claims to fame, significant dates, and miscellaneous trivia that are just fun to read about. Here’s a preview of what to look forward to:

Almost every day in our lives today is a commemoration of something notable in history. In January alone, New Year’s Day falls on the 1st, science-fiction author Isaac Asimov was born on the 2nd, and Alaska became the 49th U.S. state on the 3rd. Discover more about each day of the upcoming week in every newsletter.

Fun facts
Who is the world’s top novelist? Why do we celebrate Halloween, Christmas or New Year’s Eve? What is antimatter? I enjoy finding the answers to such random questions. Sometimes I learn more than I can write in an article, so where do the other fun facts from my research end up? In the newsletter, of course!

Topic ideas
Got a suggestion for a topic? Head to the “Today in History” forum and drop me a line! A link to the forum can be found in the newsletter every week. Just sign up to start posting. It’s fast, free and easy, and gives you the chance to comment on an article or raise a query. Chances are, someone there can answer your question!

The “Today in History” newsletter is readable on any device and platform. Feel free to browse through the archive of past issues at the bottom of the page.
