Welcome to BellaOnline’s Folklore and Mythology Newsletter sign-up page. I appreciate your interest. If you decide to subscribe to this newsletter, you will receive it on Sundays.
George Lucas famously stated that, in writing Star Wars, he wanted to create a fairy tale for those who grew up without them. His desire underscores the importance of mythology and folklore for all human beings. It’s essential that we understand our psyches through our stories, and that we realize that stories from the far away past hold contemporary significance.
Each week, I will be researching and writing about folklore and mythology from around the world – from the lore of small villages to the tales of vast metropolises. You’ll find information on flora and fauna, song and dance, noble heroes and vast pantheons, and on scholars such as Joseph Campbell who gave his life to study. Your subscription to the newsletter will alert you to the publication of new articles.
