About the BellaOnline Tatting Editor
Georgia Seitz
40 years ago I learned to tat. 40! 4 decades ago! And I still love every minute of it.
Tatting is both pleasure and passion for me. I believe also that it is both relaxation and a form of stress management for thousands of tatters worldwide.
It has brought me many friendships and online friends as I belong to many lace-making guilds and groups. I am a member of the International Org of Lacermakers, Inc. (IOLI), the Ring of Tatters (UK) and the Palmetto Tatters Guild. I have traveled through the United States and Canada teaching for such tatting groups as The Lacemakers of Puget Sound, Spokane Shuttlebirds, Camp Wannatat, The Fringe Element Lace Days, Freeway Lacers Workshop, Finger Lakes Tatting Guild (Hector NY) and private workshops.
I love sharing week-long teaching workshops at IOLI conventions. Why! I have even taught tatting in a State Correctional Facility. (Gosh, those young men were really surprised to learn that the "tatting" course they signed up for was not "tattooing" but lacemaking.) With the help of many volunteers and other designers, I have mentored the Online Tatting Class for over 20 years. (www.georgiaseitz.com, free and fun.)
I have published 5 books and edited 2 additional books, but, I find the greatest personal and professional satisfaction comes from teaching new tatters. I enjoy reviewing new tatting pattern books and have been published in PIECEWORK magazine, too. I am happy to share my tatting experience. Happy Tatting.
