About the BellaOnline Native American Editor
Jacqueline Olivia Pina
Mother Earth is a sacred place. All people are sacred beings. In order to remember that, we transcend current belief systems to uncover and strengthen the spiritual legacy that is within each of us. Join me on this life giving journey towards hope and discovery through the traditional wisdom and teachings of Native American culture.
I am a Native American woman of the Crow Tribal Nation and am honored to share this site and my life with you. As a young child, I was given the Crow Indian name, Sacred Tobacco Woman. Although the Crow Reservation is located in the state of Montana, I currently reside near Seattle, Washington. Time with my husband and grandchildren is my favorite thing. After thirteen years of teaching, I am now on a different path. Writing for BellaOnline is a joy!
This site explores Native American Tribal culture past and present with the utmost respect and honor. Take a virtual trip around North America with me and learn about the food and artistry, challenges and victory, spirit and hope of my Native American culture.
In Native American tradition we are here to learn from each other and the magnificent nature around us, to live in harmony with All Our Relations. It is from this standpoint that we begin to expand the positive aspects of ourselves, which in turn results in the healing of our lives and our planet.
I write now to share my experience of triumph. My purpose is to assist others, especially those who would not be able to receive the knowledge otherwise. I appreciate that BellaOnline offers a free site to the world that includes articles, discussion forums, and weekly newsletters.
Together we form a powerful alliance. Perhaps we can dare to venture beyond hope and discovery, to where freedom, peace and joy await. From this perspective of sharing and learning together, I invite you to experience this sacred journey with me. All are welcome.
Peace & Blessings
