About the BellaOnline Family Travel Editor

Hello! My name is Tiffiny Spire and I am excited to be the Family Travel editor here at BellaOnline! I believe my passion for traveling stems from a childhood of living in many different places around the United States. Now, if I’m in one place for too long, my feet start itching for the road, and I feel the need to start planning my next adventure into the unknown. Luckily for me, my husband has the same passion for traveling that I do. We have visited much of North America. We have sampled some delights in Europe. The next region currently in the planning phase is Central America.
Though traveling became more challenging once our daughter was born, our passion for exploring did not wane a bit. It was important to me to find a way to successfully incorporate my daughter into my traveling lifestyle. I began looking around me for examples of families who traveled with young children. I gleaned as much as I could from these few role models and have put their advice into action repeatedly.
My daughter holds the distinction of being the youngest visitor to the Portland Museum of Fine Arts in Portland, Maine (or so we were told). She was not quite three months old when we took her there on her first road trip which was a five hour drive. At four months, she flew cross-country with me on a six hour flight from Boston to Phoenix. Soon after, we went on a two day road trip from there to New Mexico for a family reunion. All of these early traveling adventures with my infant taught me two things. 1. It is possible to travel with young children and still have an enjoyable trip. 2. Many parents let the fear of traveling with kids keep them from straying too far from home as a family. (I can´t tell you how many people told me they were shocked to see me traveling with such a young baby.) My goal here at BellaOnline is to pass on my tried and true tips for traveling successfully with children in hopes that more families will come to enjoy traveling together.
