When it really comes down, I just love beauty. I fell in love with fiber arts about 4 years back when I decided on a whim to learn to crochet so I would have something handmade under the Christmas tree for my daughter. I just haven´t been able to stop since!
For me, the magic of crochet is making something out of virtually nothing. You are creating fabric, one stitch at a time, when you crochet. The quality of that fabric depends on the materials you use and the stitch patterns you choose. I’ve never stopped learning new techniques, because there is as much variety as the human mind can dream up.
I believe crocheting can be for anyone. And it can happen anywhere. I always have a project bag with me, be it at work, running errands, on vacation—you name it. You don’t need to do complicated stitch work to create something of lasting value and beauty. Some of my favorite pieces are done in simple single crochet.
