The tycoon games get more and more fun as each new one comes out - the developers definitely learn from past experience and build suggestions into the new versions. Zoo Tycoon, the latest release, is about as fun and addictive as you can get!

I am a HUGE huge fan of the Zoo Tycoon series. Zoo Tycoon 2 is well worth buying - the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is quite addictive!
Zoo Tycoon Expansion Pack : Marine Mania 
The millions of people who were happily addicted to Zoo Tycoon can rejoice - the Marine Mania keeps the fun rolling, and even adds in the dinosaurs!
