In Ecuador’s Andes, along with formidable mountains, scenic valleys and centuries-old haciendas, we discovered intriguing native markets. We met locals, learned about traditions and bargained for hand-crafted items.

Explore Art in Taos, New Mexico
Taos, New Mexico, known for its historic Pueblo, towering mountains and plunging Rio Grande Gorge, lures art lovers too. At the Millicent Rogers Museum and the Harwood Museum as well as in adobe walled galleries admire historic and contemporary southwestern art.

Shopping in Shanghai and Beijing, China
For those who consider shopping a trip essential, China is magic. The vendors at Shanghai’s and Beijing’s markets hawk everything—tea pots, Buddhas, pearl necklaces, scarves, jade bracelets, cheap watches, "designer bags," silk shawls and more. But you need to know where to look and how to shop.
