Safe is a British TV show set in England and it stars Michael C. Hall (from Dexter). The show is a Netflix original and it aired with 8 episodes (less than 45 minutes each) in the first season.

Safe is a modern-day murder mystery where Michael C. Hall is Dr. Tom Delaney, a widower who is raising two daughters. (His wife died a year earlier to cancer). While still grieving the death of his wife (and harboring some guilt around it) his 16-year old daughter, Jenny, goes missing and what follows is a hodgepodge of secrets and mysteries as he tries to find Jenny. Adults and teens in the surburban gated community where Tom lives, are all hiding secrets, and on the whole, the teens are better at covering their tracks than the grown-ups.

Tom quickly finds out that Jenny met up with her boyfriend Chris at a house party but never returns home. Chris also ends up missing. Early on we find out that Chris is dead and the neighbor's are frantically trying to hide his body. Also Chris' mother was having an affair with a student at the local high school where she teaches. Tom is also having an affair with the lead detective on all of the cases. It seems like every episode answers one question but then it leaves the viewer asking two more.

You will really feel like you are on a roller coaster ride. Every episode ends with a cliff hanger. As the plot unravels, its easy to see how close-knit groups can become corrupted ? and protect each other ? when things go awry. It kind of feels like a cross between Sherlock Holmes and the Young and the Restless soap opera.

Unlike a lot of series, safe preety much wraps up all loose ends by the end of the series leading one to doubt that there will be a second season. All in all Safe stands strong with a star-studded cast and an intense and ever changing plot.
