Trial and Error - Lady Killer (Season two)
The NBC comedy, Trial and Error has debuted for the second season. This season will have 10 episodes. The entire cast minus John Lithgow has returned from season one. Trial & Error stars Nicholas D'Agosto as transplanted New York lawyer Josh Sega running his own firm. His team consists of many misfits that help Josh along the way. We meet Anna Flatch, John's assistant, played by Sherri Shephard. Her tagline is that she has a medical condition that causes her to jump to very high heights when she is startled. Adding to the cast is Dwayne Reed, played by Steven Boyer. Dwayne is and East Peck officer and also Josh's lead investigator.
In his first case at the new location, his firm must represent Lavinia Peck Foster, who is the local town sweetheart, against charges accusing her of murdering her husband. Peck-Foster is an heiress and philanthropist to the town of East Peck where the show takes place. She is known for her flamboyant outfits, large hats and hairless cat. Peck-Foster was pulled over one night for speeding and when the cop was about to let her go, her car trunk popped open and the cop saw Lavinia's husbands legs sticking out of a suitcase.
The television show spoofs reality legal shows and true crime documentaries and it is actually pretty funny. Often times you will see Josh talking directly to the camera or the audience. This season has the subtitle Lady Killer as the focus is defending Lavinia Foster (played by Kristin Chenoweth) from her murder charges.
Josh goes to the local jail to meet with Lavinia and he finds her sitting in a room with tons of cakes, and pies, and desserts. Lavinia comes on to Josh. When Josh gets to court, it's evident that he is new as the entire town knows each other. He also runs into the prosecuting attorney who he used to date, and is now pregnant. It seems that Josh and the District Attorney are both uncertain as to the paternity of the child as of the first episode.
