Steps of Faith
When we open our hearts to accept God in our lives, we have to renew our minds to think and act differently to everyday situations. We will still have problems to deal with just as much as nonbelievers. The difference is that we have a source to help us to not only get through the situations but also to overcome them.
When we surrender our lives to the Lord we are able to stand on his word and move in faith. Faith allows us to look to the Lord when we don’t know what to do and believe that He will make a way. This is the place we must come to in order to rest in the Lord and find peace when there is no natural evidence of change. As Christians we have to find solace in not knowing but in believing in a miracle working God. A God that has plans for each of us and wants only the best for us.
When we come to the point of acknowledging that we are powerless but our Father has all power then we are able to walk in peace and expectancy. This is where faith abides and grows. Faith builds us up during the dark times in our lives and leaves remnants in our minds and spirits for us to hold on to when each problem comes and goes. This faith allows us to stand strong through the storms of life and gives us the ability to encourage others to trust in the Lord and lead them into a place of peace.
When you have strong faith, you can experience overwhelming joy during tough times because you know you are not alone. God is always there. If your faith is not strong, ask God to help your unbelief.
Psalm 86
Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me;
For I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
3 Be merciful to me, O Lord,
For I cry to You all day long.
4]Rejoice the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
6 Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.
I pray for your increased faith,
God bless!
