World Fusion Festival
World Fusion Festival will run from May 1-3, 2015 at Lake Casitas Ventura, California. It is going to be filled with music, dance, art, food and vendors. What makes this event unique is the fact that it will be outdoors. Fusion is about celebrating spring, in a wonderful campground, surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature.
Those who attend World Fusion Festival will be entertained by performers from all over the world. One of the groups featured at World Fusion Festival will be Dansoleil Belly Dance Theater, under the direction of Talia Soleil. Her group is award winning, combining Hawaiian, Tahitian, and belly dance.
Leela Belly Dance believes in the empowerment of dance. She welcomes all women to participate in her dance troupe, so that they understand the beauty of belly dance. World Fusion Festival will feature her group.
Fusing belly dance and popping is what makes Edenia Archuleta an amazing performer. Inspired by Rachel Brice, Edenia combined her skills of popping along with Tribal Fusion. One can see from her videos that this is fusion at its best.
Musicians will grace the campsite with their unique instruments and sounds. Candelaria produces sound in real-time during all their live performances. At the World Fusion Festival, the audience will be exposed to cumbia, reggae and dancehall beats. Their second record is due out in spring of 2015.
Blume Bauer, Producer of the largest belly dance festival Cairo Caravan, envisioned a festival that really brings people of all nationalities and walks of life together in a camp setting. “I wanted to take what I learned from my previous events and create something magical that incorporated world music and dance”, says Bauer.
Bauer says, “every person, no matter their wealth or race can enjoy music and dancing”. This in turn helps everyone unite as one, as a human race. Such an atmosphere allows for people to learn, be exposed to new cultures and art forms, and to create, according to Bauer. She says, “A person might come to the festival to enjoy their favorite reggae band, but they will also be exposed to many other styles and genres”.
Everyone should make plans to attend this event, for it will be featured in a documentary “Freedom of Dance” by Josy Shuffles. She will also be dancing on the main stage. Maybe one of you will be featured several times in the documentary!
This week, workshops will be announced. From belly dance to hooping, you will get to learn what your heart desires. Bauer looks forward to all the happy faces at this event and I’m sure everyone will have a great time. Visit the website www.worldfusionfestival.com for more information.
