Dying To Read by Lorena McCourtney is a book about an amateur sleuth named Cate who is floating through life. Between jobs, she ends up staying with an aunt and uncle, and helping out--mainly in an administrative role--at his detective agency. When he lands in the hospital, Cate steps up and agrees to help with a case--a case that is supposed to be fairly simple and safe. Of course, it turns out to be anything but that. Cate sets out to locate a missing relative for a client. Instead, she stumbles into a murder mystery with several possible suspects, most of whom belong to the victim's book club. As the story unfolds, you will be piecing together clues, and making assumptions about each potential murderer. Making it more interesting, McCourtney has woven together smaller mysteries into the main story. With well developed characters and plot, the reader stays involved throughout the book.
