Share your Testimony
We all have a history and a past. We all have been through different situations, times when things were good and times when it was not so good. A lot of people have been through health problems or medical concerns. Some of us have lost people we really cared deeply about including family members, friends, co-workers and sometimes patients or clients that have made us very sad that we still feel the loss and miss them to this day.
If you reflect back on your life there probably was a time you went through something that you didn’t think you could survive. You probably know someone that went through a horrifying or devastating situation that most people cannot understand how they made it through it.
When people talk about their life and the things that they have been through, do you ever wonder what is the difference between their story and a testimony?
Your story is all of the things that you went through in your life until you met Jesus. Once you meet Jesus and realize that everything you overcame was by the grace of God. That is when your story becomes a testimony because you can reflect back on all the times that His grace saved you, protected you, and provided for you sometimes miraculously.
Once we let go of the belief that we made it all happen, then we are able to give God the glory for all the things he has done and is presently doing in our lives. At that point, we are able to surrender to His will and give God the credit for allowing us to stand and then we are able to begin to walk into His favor as we become a servant in the kingdom.
Take a look in your Bible at Acts 22 and you will see the story of Paul who was a persecutor of those who followed Jesus.
You will see in Acts 22: 6 – 10 that when Paul had an encounter with Jesus everything began to change.
As you continue to read Acts 22 you will see that Paul’s life was changed forever. He no longer persecuted the Jews as he became a follower of Jesus Christ and began to tell others. Now Paul’s story became a testimony.
As a Christian your life's story becomes a testimony of all of the things you have been through and have overcome as a living witness of the goodness of the Lord. When you tell others of what you have been through be sure to give God the glory, always remembering it is by His grace that you made it. Having faith that He loves us and wants the best for us will help us withstand the storms of daily life knowing that He has a plan and a purpose for each of us.
God Bless!
